Songfacts®:

  • "I Can Feel It" is an uptempo country song about the feeling of falling in love and being attracted to someone. Kane Brown released the song as a single via RCA Nashville on September 21, 2023.
  • The track pulls heavily from Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight," including its iconic drum cascade. "It's a legendary drum fill and it's a legendary song. There's no way I could not do that," said Brown.
  • Kane Brown co-wrote the song in Canada with Gabe Foust and Jaxson Free. "We had Phil Collins on our mind," he told Apple Music. "We started writing this song and it happens every time. I'll live with a song for months, a year and then release it as a single."
  • When Brown recorded the song with producer Dann Huff, he gave him specific instructions. "Once Dann Huff got a hold of this, I told him, I was like, 'I want it live. I want you to bring it alive as if I'm... Think of me being on the road on tour. I want to be able to hear that when we're listening to this song.' And he just brought the magic. And I fell in love with it."
  • Brown got the idea for the song when he played Stagecoach in late April 2023. "I wanted Phil Collins to come out on stage with me," he told Taste of Country's Evan Paul. "I thought it would be cool."

Though Collins didn't make it to the stage, he did give Brown his blessing to sample his song.
  • Co-writer Jaxson Free also sings the backing vocals with Josh Reedy and Dann Huff plays the electric guitar. The other musicians are:

    Aaron Sterling: drums
    Charles Judge: synthesizer
    Danny Rader: acoustic guitar
    Kris Donegan; electric guitar
    Rob McNelley: electric guitar
    Mark Hill: bass
    Paul Franklin: steel guitar
  • Not only does Brown's song heavily sample Phi Collins' 1981 smash hit, but the country star also named his 2024 trek the In The Air Tour.
