Songfacts®:

  • "Leave You Alone" is a charming song of affirmation dedicated to Kane Brown's wife, Katelyn.

The first verse alludes to fights between the couple that leave Katelyn in tears. Throughout the rest of the country-soul ballad, Brown assures her of his total commitment to their marriage. He will never walk out on Katelyn because he loves her so much and will never leave her alone.
  • Brown compares his long-term commitment towards Katelyn to red wine stains on carpets and his favorite worn-in jeans. When somebody spills red wine on a carpet, it is hard to wash away, and nobody throws out their favorite jeans. Likewise, Brown is promising Katelyn he's in for the long haul, no matter what challenges may lie ahead.
  • Kane Brown first dated Philadelphia native Katelyn Jae in 2016, and since then she's been the muse for his love songs. Other tunes inspired by his sweetheart include "Found You," "Heaven," "Good as You," "Homesick," "One Thing Right," and "Worship You."
  • Brown wrote "Leave You alone" with Jordan Minton (Trent Harmon's "You Got 'Em All," Niko Moon's "Good Time") and Jordan Schmidt (Kane Brown's "What Ifs" and "Worldwide Beautiful").
  • The singer first previewed the heartfelt love song on his social media accounts in late 2021 before dropping it as a single on March 4, 2022. Its release came shortly after Brown welcomed their second daughter, Kodi Jane.
  • Kane Brown performed "Leave You Alone" live for the first time live at the ACM Awards held in Las Vegas on March 7, 2022.
