Songfacts®:

  • Karl "Konan" Wilson's stepfather, Carlton, was shot dead in his Thornton Heath home, in the early hours of July 1, 2011. Konan who was targeted in the attack, escaped unharmed. Here, the duo address the murder and how they started their music career.
  • Konan explained his motivation for recording the track to NME: "I wanted to open people's eyes to the fact that we're all going through things behind the scenes," he said. "A lot of people are showing you their fun side, but you don't know what they could be going though."
  • Krept & Konan released an emotional music video recalling the night of the murder. Konan told The Croydon Guardian that releasing the visual had helped him come to terms with what happened.

"Throughout the whole thing I have never taken it in [what happened] I just tried to distance myself with the music and never accepted it. I just tried to stay strong, but after finishing it its was like a weight off my shoulders," he said.

"The third time I watched it back, it hit me, as it reminded me of what has been going on and it took me back. I have spoken to mum, but I haven't asked her what she thinks, but I'm going to."
