Songfacts®:

  • Hailing from the Norwegian city of Bergen, DJ and producer Kygo began playing piano when he was six years old. After hearing Tim Berg's 2010 single "Seek Bromance," he decided to have a go at remixes. Kygo's revamping of popular tunes in a Tropical House style proved popular and after a series of sell out shows in North America and Europe as well as headline performances at festivals he signed a worldwide recording deal with Sony Music Entertainment.
  • This song is Kygo's debut original single. The track features vocals by Australia born and LA based singer Conrad (mononym for Conrad Sewell). Released on December 1, 2014, the single topped the charts in the Norwegian producer's home country and reached the Top Ten on many other European listings.
  • The song was originally written by Conrad Sewell, but it wasn't how he intended it to sound. The Aussie singer told Digital Spy: "I was actually writing for Steve Angello for a Swedish House Mafia pitch, so when I wrote it I imagined it like 'Don't You Worry Child'. Like a big EDM anthem."

"But when I sent it to Kygo he made it all tropical, and at first it was so far from what I thought it was going to be, that I didn't like it," Sewell continued. "Not that I didn't like it, but it seemed unfamiliar. You obviously have a vision for a song when you write it, but then after the third listen I was in love with it because it was the polar opposite."
  • The song's name was inspired by a big sign for the tire company Firestone that Sewell saw when he was driving to Venice. "I just thought it was a great title," he said. "I wrote it down and kept it and that was later on brought up."
  • Kygo recalled to The Sun: "This collaboration happened after Conrad Sewell sent me over an idea for a vocal. I fell in love with his voice and got inspired by his ideas. I ran to my computer after I heard the demo."
