Songfacts®:

  • Lifted from Laurent Wolf's fifth studio album, Harmony, "Survive" is a song about rising up and fighting injustice. It features Andrew Roachford, frontman of the British band Roachford, who are perhaps most famous for their '80s hit "Cuddly Toy (Feel For Me)."

In 2020, Andrew Roachford spoke to Songfacts about making "Survive" with Laurent Wolf. "I loved that collaboration!" he said. "I spoke to him not so long ago - it was so much fun. He's such a great producer, DJ, and we hung out together for a few days in Toulouse, his hometown, and the whole experience was lovely."
  • "Survive" was a hit in Laurent Wolf's native France, where it peaked at #9. Andrew Roachford revealed that he wasn't expecting the song to get such a big reaction, explaining: "I was quite shocked when I got to the stage because it wasn't a hit in the UK, so we turned up to a stadium in Paris and it was just full of people. As soon as I walked on the stage and sang that song everyone got up and I was just like, wow - crazy!"
  • The song came paired with an official video that stars Laurent Wolf as a homeless man and Andrew Roachford as an altruistic passerby who hands him some money. With this cash, Laurent manages to get a job at a local diner, before going on to pursue his dream of becoming a successful DJ.
