Songfacts®:

  • This Heat Academy produced track finds Lecrae rapping of God's mercy in the wake of his "dark past full of evil endeavors," whilst guest rapper Tedashii testifies to God's grace at Calvary. "Now ya boy turned up, free from all those chains. Volume on 10, you can call it unashamed," he rhymes.
  • No Malice's chorus is taken from "Darkest Hour," which originally featured on Lecrae's Church Clothes mixtape. Gene "No Malice" Thornton, formerly known as Malice, is one half of the Hip-Hop duo Clipse, along with his brother Terrence "Pusha-T" Thornton.
  • Speaking with us in a 2012 interview, Lecrae said that he turns prayers into songs, "in my most human moments when I'm just being open and accepting about me being a human, and just my humanity, my frailty, and my fragile." He added: "I'm really trying to cry out to God saying, 'I need help.' So that happens whenever I'm in my most frail moments."
