Songfacts®:

  • The third single from Kravitz's ninth studio album, this funky guitar track is about the singer's admiration for a glamorous "underage Lolita" with a rock-and-roll attitude. The girl in question is Cherie Currie of The Runaways. Kravitz had just watched the 2010 movie about the all-girl rock band and was inspired by Dakota Fanning's portrayal of the singer.
  • "Lolita" refers to the title character in Vladimir Nabokov's 1955 novel about a middle-aged man who lusts after his underage stepdaughter. Often portrayed as a teen sexpot, Lolita shows up in several pop songs, including Lana Del Rey's "Off To The Races."
