  • Lewis told VH1 about this song: "I'm quite a family kind of girl. I love being around my family and my friends. I do a lot of traveling now, but I'm splitting my time so that I'm home. I get my energy boost from my family. [Being away from home] did put a lot of emotion into my songs. I wrote a song called 'Here I Am' which was about being there for someone, no matter what, and that's what my family and friends were doing. No matter what, I come home and I'm still the same girl."
  • This and "Whatever It Takes" were the two songs on the Spirit album that were co-written by Lewis. She spoke to MP3.com about her songwriting: "It's good to keep that creative flow going and express yourself that way and I love to write as well. But for me, it's about songs I feel connected to, whether I've written them or someone else has. But I'm definitely going to keep on going forward in writing and recording."
