Songfacts®:

  • This inspirational track finds Logic talking about his own rags-to-riches story. The rapper reflects on how he's worked hard to make his goals for the future happen.

You ever wonder what it means to make it by any means and finally attain your dreams
On the come up, where they run up from the world of many fiends
I been at it since a teen, get this money, get the cream
Hard work and sacrifice but not a lot know what I mean

Logic has accomplished his dreams and at this point in his career the rapper has all that he ever wanted.
  • The uplifting song features an assist from OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder, who croons the hook. According to Logic's interview with HardKnockTV, the tune was created by the pair in 20 minutes.
  • Ryan Tedder has never had a solo hit, but this was his third Hot 100 entry as a featured act. The previous two were earlier in the decade: "Rocketeer," by Far East Movement (#7), and "The Fighter" by Gym Class Heroes (#25).
  • The song's music video, directed by Andy Hines, compares the story of a Mexican child separated from his parents at the border between Mexico and the United States with the upbringing of a boy who becomes a white supremacist. The Mexican-American becomes a surgeon and saves the life of the Neo-Nazi.

The visual is a star-studded affair, featuring Michael Peña, Judy Reyes and Luis Guzman. Logic and Ryan Tedder only make a brief appearance during the latter half of the clip.

In his tweet sharing the video, Logic wrote, "WE ARE ALL HUMAN BEINGS."
