  • M. Ward explained the song's meaning to Billboard magazine. "It's a dream about confessing everything to a guru or a master or a saint or a sensei or rabbi or great spirit or holy ghost or mystic in some kind of an exchange where you drop something off your shoulders and gain a kind of freedom in return," he shared. "It's a fantasy song - or a 'wouldn't it be nice' kind of song."
  • The song's music video was directed by Ward's college pal, musician Carlos Forster. Their musical collaborations date back to 1998 when Forster contributed backing vocals for Ward's debut album Duet for Guitars #2. "My good friend Carlos Forster is no saint but the beautiful video he made for this song takes a three-minute picture of the universe in a way that makes me feel good to live here," said Ward.
