Songfacts®:

  • Mac Miller duets with his girlfriend Ariana Grande on this romantic song. It is the third collaboration between the pair, the other two being Grande's 2013 debut single "The Way" and the remix to the songstress' Dangerous Woman track "Into You."

"It was great," he told People of their recording experience. "There was no awkwardness or weirdness, it was how it always was. Just both of us older, more mature and more sure of ourselves. When we first recorded together we were young and figuring it out, which we still are, but now seeing her growth and my growth - it's great."
  • Mac Miller didn't have Ariana Grande in mind while he was writing the tune, as he penned it before they started dating. "I wrote that love song before I saw her," he explained.

However, once Miller contacted Grande about working with him on the track, things quickly evolved from there. "We're very good friends first and foremost," he said. "We made that song and started becoming close again. It's very dope and I like how that worked out."
