Songfacts®:

  • The titular Pam was the most successful tramp in Soho, London. "She was a friend of my mum's," frontman Suggs recalled to The Guardian. "She used to earn about £200 a day, but it all went on the bookies and fruit machines. She just had this incredible knack of getting money off people. She used to give you that toothless smile and she'd go to give you a hug, and you'd give her a pound not to get a f---in' hug, you know what I mean?"
