Songfacts®:

  • Maisie Peters recorded "Together This Christmas" for the 2022 British Amazon Prime comedy, Your Christmas Or Mine? The movie follows a young couple who simultaneously decide to surprise the other at Christmas, only to experience the festivities with each other's families without their partners. On this heartwarming Yuletide track, Peters sings about spending Christmas with that special someone.
  • Peters first worked with Your Christmas Or Mine? director Jim O'Hanlon when she made the soundtrack for the Apple TV + series Trying: Season 2. When he got back in touch to ask the singer-songwriter if she wanted to be involved in his festive film, she quickly agreed and penned "Together This Christmas."

"The challenge to make something so bright and cheery but also stay true to my own lyricism and craft was really fun and I loved the task of what would my version of a Christmas classic be," Peters said.
  • Angels in the window panes
And two pints on a single tray
The ten bells full of runaways
    Just for Christmas Eve

When Peters wrote this song, The Ten Bells was her local pub. Her housemate worked there every weekend.
  • Peters co-wrote "Together This Christmas" with Joe Rubel, a London-based producer with multiple Ed Sheeran credits, including "Best Part of Me," "Tides," "Stop The Rain," and "Love In Slow Motion." He produced seven tracks on Peters' debut album, You Signed Up for This, and her single "Cate's Brother."
