Songfacts®:

  • Martina McBride salutes women dealing with the struggles of different phases of life on this Chris Lindsey, Hillary Lindsey and Aimee Mayo penned song,

    This one's for the girls
    Who love without holding back
Who dream with everything they have
    All around the world
    This one's for the girls

Speaking to Billboard magazine in 2017, McBride said it was an "immediate no-brainer" to record the song. She explained: "I loved the fact that it was up-tempo and fun, but it also had something to say. It felt like such a positive message, and it's still one of my favorite songs to do live. It's like a shot of energy that goes through the crowd."
  • McBride's daughters, Delaney and Emma, sing backing vocals on the song along with fellow country singers Carolyn Dawn Johnson and Faith Hill and co-writers Hillary Lindsey and Aimee Mayo.

  • Jenni from Central FloridaI love this song! I remember all those ages, stages, and emotions. You really hit the nail on the head with this one and sing it marvelously. Now that I’m divorced and alone, I certainly have time to reflect on my broken heart, dreams, and life that didn’t quite turn out the way I thought it would.
