Songfacts®:

  • Alternatively "Moondog", according to the official Uriah Heep website, this song was inspired by an incident when The Nits supported the band in 2006. They performed a concert at a very unusual venue, "in a deep mine." One member of Uriah Heep (who for obvious reasons is not named) wandered off into a forbidden dark passage where he claimed to have seen a werewolf. Could this be the same mine down which Blackmore's Night" recorded "Way To Mandalay" perhaps?

"Moon Dog" runs to only around two and a half minutes, but if you really do see a werewolf, you don't want to hang around to sing about it! >>>
