  • The Bostonian rapper Sammy Adams told Zann during his show on New York's Hit Music Channel 92.3 that his song was not well received by his East coast friends. "People from Boston would be like, 'Why'd you write an L.A. Story song?' And it's like well if you listen closely, you can tell I'm from Boston because I sort of take the piss out of a lot of things in L.A."
  • Mike Posner sings on the new track. Adams told Zann that the cut was a fun project that was a long time coming. "Mike and I have known each other for years. We did a show together with Big Sean – I think it was 2008 or 2009–out in California.," he said. "Then, Mikey released Matter of Time and Sean was releasing Finally Famous mixtapes, and then both of them blew up so we never got to work. We had ideas of working on songs together, then they both just got really busy. [L.A. Story] was great because we needed someone to help me sing the hook and do the bridge, and Mikey immediately came to mind."
  • Adams wrote the song with Posner, Oren Yorl, Ryan Tedder and Noel Zancanella. The latter two also produced the cut. It was released as the lead single from I Wish on May 28, 2013.
  • The video is set on beach side LA as we see Adams skate by the seafront in reverse.
