Songfacts®:

  • This dancefloor crowd pleaser was originally released in July 2009 by Dutch DJ Sidney Samson as "Riverside" and reached # 8 in his native country's chart. Six months later it was given a remix treatment from Wizard Sleeve a.k.a. Lex Cruz and Mike Beatz and this new version charted in the UK Top 10.
  • The original song is often censored for radio play to avoid causing offense as most of the lyrical content is made up of two words, "Riverside Motherf---er." The sweary proclamation is sampled from the 1992 crime drama movie Juice starring Omar Epps and Tupac Shakur. The re-mix, which contains additional lyrics, is more radio friendly.
  • The song's music video was directed by James Copeman, who's previously helmed clips for Mystery Jets, Laura Marling and Noah And The Whale.
