Songfacts®:

  • This is the first single to be released from Stone Sour's fourth long-player House of Gold & Bones - Part 1, the first part of a double concept album. The two records are about a young man struggling with growing up. "It's basically the story of a man who's trying to figure it out," said frontman Corey Taylor. "There are stories about the people around him, stories about his romantic life, and there's really this internal struggle where he's going to burn forever or figure it out."
  • Rachel Bolan from Skid Row served as the studio replacement for the departed bassist Shawn Economaki on House Of Gold And Bones. Guitarist Josh Rand told Metal Shrine about Bolan's involvement in the album, "It was a great experience. He's a phenomenal writer on top of being a phenomenal bass player and he brought this style into it that we felt had been lacking. Instead of following the guitars, he actually plays bass and it elevated all of the songs to a whole new level."
