Songfacts®:

  • Frontman Dan Gillespie-Sells told the Sun newspaper February 8, 2008 that he kept the same musical formula he has always followed to write songs for Join With Us. He revealed: "I just keep playing through stuff until it genuinely makes me smile. I play and play and play until I find something that puts a smile on my face. I am a very upbeat and positive person but deep down I have the same anxieties a lot of people have. I don't express it by wallowing in it. I turn it into something joyful. When I have dark days, I turn to music and it drags me out of it. Writing songs is my therapy. That's why they are so joyful as I can be a miserable bastard when I want to be!"
  • Bradley House, the Wiltshire stately home of the Duke of Somerset, was the location chosen for recording much of the album.
