Songfacts®:

  • This song is about a sensual sexual experience, being so close to another that you can feel their bones.
  • Tim Burton, who directed the movies The Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman and Big Fish, directed this video. In the January 2007 Q magazine, he said: "They're great guys and a great band, and obviously I got to know them a little while working on the video. Their video was the first one I've ever done, but I really liked them and I had some time so I thought, 'Why not?' It was a special time for me."
  • The Killers had this song for a couple years without ever being convinced it was good enough to be recorded. It was finally brought to life when bassist Mark Stoermer, who grew up playing the trumpet, had the idea of bringing in real brass.

  • Hector from Cd. Victoria, MexicoThe clothes, drums, guitar and bass that were used in this video are in the main entrance of the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. Also the sunglasses that Brandon Flowers wore in the video.
  • Ben from Pensacola, FlI always thought this song sort of followed in the footsteps of their 'Murder Trilogy' as well. Combine this song with 'Believe me Natalie' and it makes me think he is singing about Natalie Holloway. They go down to the beach for 1 thing and then something else happens.
  • Candy from Wales, United Kingdomi agree with Paris, Cardiff, the video is so funny, and its one of the best made. i love this song live, Brandon really loses himself and its amazing!
  • Paris from Cardiff, United Kingdomthis video is immense and it's so funny, and one of the best ever made in my view :D
  • Sydney from Madison, WiMike from Boston, you're thinking of Jenny Was a Friend of Mine and Midnight Show. I like this song, though, because it was a sweet meaning.
  • Mike from Boston, MaBefore looking at the lyrics, i thought it was about a guy that killed a girl and was haunted by the guilt. Looking back, I have no idea how that makes sense.
