  • Martin Turner wrote this. In 1977, an old flame from the '60s turned up at an Ash gig and the two of them began an affair even though they were both married. Their earlier relationship had been frustrated by the girl's father who apparently didn't think he was good enough for his pride and joy. The affair became very messy, and Turner became so depressed that he seriously considered suicide. He ended up with his head in the Bible in an hours long manic session, which appears to have pulled him through. "It's a very emotive song for me," he said. >>>
