  • Nothing suffocates you more than
The passing of everyday human events
And isolation is the oxygen mask
You make your children breathe in to survive

    But I'm not a slave
To a god that doesn't exist
    And I'm not a slave
To a world that doesn't give a shit

    And when we were good
    You just closed your eyes
    So when we are bad
    We'll scar your minds

    Fight, fight, fight, fight
    Fight, fight, fight, fight

You'll never grow up to be a big rockstar
    Celebrated victim of your fame
Just cut our wrists like cheap coupons
And say that death was on sale today

    And when we were good
    You just closed your eyes
    So when we are bad
    We'll scar your minds

    But I'm not a slave
To a god that doesn't exist
    And I'm not a slave
To a world that doesn't give a shit

The death of one is a tragedy
The death of one is a tragedy
The death of one is a tragedy
The death of millions is just a statistic

    But I'm not a slave
To a god that doesn't exist
    And I'm not a slave
To a world that doesn't give a shit
    But I'm not a slave
To a god that doesn't exist
    And I'm not a slave
To a world that doesn't give a shit

    Fight, fight, fight, fight

  • Dan Gillespy from Courtenay BcA perfect metal song.
  • Husam. from Amman, Jordannice song wallah
  • Emily from Sneedville, TnThe Fight Song is like, practically my anthem! By listening to it, I've learned to live up to my own expectations only and it doesn't matter about my personality because I'm being myself! More importantly,I could be one of his disposable teens! Frick yeah! :)
  • Mike from Ramstein Afb, GermanyIt's been said many times before, but I feel the need to say it again...

The line "I'm not a slave to a god that doesn't exist" is one of my favorite quotes. Truely awesome.
  • Tyler from Buffalo, NyThis song is about believing in what you think and not what others want you to believe its also about being yourself. The music video goths vs jocks was about the goths fighting against everybody else i love that part to where he says "im not a slave, to a god, that doesnt exsist"
  • David from Lakeview, NcJake from Houston, I like that interpretation. It fits well with the "God is in the TV" theme from Mechanical Animals. But I'm not sure it's the central theme here.

I also agree with all the people talking about sheep-like followers. But any artist is gonna get that. If you wanna dress in black and wear make up, then dress in black and wear make up. But don't do it just because Marilyn Manson does it.
  • Matt from Valrico, Flabout he being the satanic preist, he said he was more a member of blockbuster and the library than the satanic church
  • Chris from My House, Njok sam is it this song has nothing to do with columbine it means what is said by jack in tx also marilyn manson is in no way satanig of course hese the anti christ but that only means that
  • Jake from Houston, TxNo, he was entitled a reverand by Anton LaVey who was the pastor at a Satanist church.
  • Jake from Houston, TxI actually think I found the meaning to this song along with the help of Disposable Teens

"I never really hated a one true God
But the God of the people I hated"
"I'm not a slave to a God that doesn't exsist"

What he means here is that he hates the God that the media makes. The fake God that people use to help pin their troubles on. Not the one God other religions have.
  • Tucker from Temple , Txpeople say that he is satanic because he is an ordained priest in the satanic church, which is about worshipping yourself not a diety, that is how he can be satanic and sing I'm not a slave to a god that doesnt exist
  • Aaron from Paradise CityThis goes out to all of the sheep. If any of you are true manson fans you would not dress in black and blindly accept what he says. He is about free thought. People who dress in black and say they listen to manson because they want to be different are missing the point. Another thing i don't quite understand is how people can say he is satanic. "...I'm not a slave to a god that doesn't exist..." if there is no god then there is no satan. If you don't believe what i say listen to the lyrics of "This is the new *hit. "
  • Angela from Corpus Christi , Txmy friend jacob long wrote this song because him and marilyn are brothers
  • Angela from Corpus Christi , TxThis Song is such an awesome song.I love when he says Im not a slave to a god that doesnt exsist.this song rules
  • Jake from Houston, TxManson knew what they were feeling because they were alike. You don't have to be a jerk.
  • Tanya from Rotterdam, NetherlandsSam, Earth unfortunately (prefer Mars?), I'm really curious what you mean by "If you really listen to the words and think about that, it actually does sound like what they were feeling". Do you mean, that Marilyn Manson tried to crawl into the brain of the people that did this? I wonder if Lennon and McCartney were interested in Manson's (the original one) motives. I think not.
  • Sam from Earth UnfortunatelyThis song was definately about Columbine. Anyone who watches the music video and knows a little about Columbine can see that. Especially since in the video there were the jocks vs the goths. This relates very much so to the widely misreported fact that Harris and Klebold were targetting jocks. Also that when they entered the library they said "All jocks stand up, we're gonna kill every one of you" which never was actually said either. Because of the chorus, I think this song was not as much of a revenge song but a song about Harris and Klebold and how they felt about the world. If you really listen to the words and think about that, it actually does sound like what they were feeling.
  • Jer from London, Canadathis is my favorite manson song. I've been alot of his song lyrics and he is an AWSOME song writer
  • God from UsaI was gothic before I even was in middle school and I ever knew I was. I just liked wearing black all the time. Funny thing is I got teased all the time, then once I got into middle school I stopped and the people who teased me became. Kinda funny when somone sees somone walking around wearing black and make-up they immediatly get jelous because they stick out more than you.
  • Matt from Northampton, PaYou have no idea how much I agree!!!
  • Michael from Sutton Coldfield, Englandyeah i hate manson's sheep-like followers as well. they take away from what hes doing, i mean i am a very big fan of his but i dont dress like him because im an artist myself and im a friend of cyril helwien which is alot cooler than walking round in black make-up to show how unique you are (robert smith would be turning in his grave, that is if he was dead, which he isn't).
  • Daniel from Charlottetown, CanadaI have yet to hear the original version of this song, but I enjoy it a lot.

The only problem I have with Manson lies within their fans. Marilyn is such an excellent lyricist at times, but this is ruined by fans who try too hard to be something.
  • Abbes from Windsor, CanadaSame here - Charlie, Orland
  • William from London, EnglandThis is sort of Marilyn Manson's hateful revenge songs for being wrongly blamed for influencing the Coulmbine, There are other songs about this subject bout more meloncholic, Manson (well Brian Warner) got Depressed over this
  • Lorne from Toronto, CanadaA clip from this music video was shown during his interview with Micheal Moore in "Bowling for Columbine".
  • Charlie from Orland Park, IlI'm not a slave to a god that doesnt exist is one of my favorite quotes.
