  • I work in the store on the edge of town
The daily shoppers going up and down
    Elevator rock, elevator roll
    Elevator rock, elevator roll

Buzzin' all day, buzzin' all night
Floors to the left and floors to the right
    Elevator rock, elevator roll
    Elevator rock, elevator roll

    (Saxophone Solo)

Goin' up madam, going down sir
Goin' up sonny, or your little cur
    Elevator rock, elevator roll
    Elevator rock, elevator roll

First floor ties, second floor socks
Third floor dresses, how my head it rocks
    Elevator rock, elevator roll
    Elevator rock, elevator roll

Buzzin' all day, buzzin' all night
Floors to the left and floors to the right
You can keep ""see you later alligator""
    I got my elevator
Elevator rock, elevator roll Writer/s: TOMMY STEELE

  • Heath St John from Berry's GreenI've bought the late '50's 'Rock with Tommy Steele' sheet music booklet, and the mistake published in your version of the lyrics that should be corrected is in the words'...Going up son, oh, you little girl...' The correct word is not 'Girl', but 'Cur', ('...oh, you little CUR...'), to rhyme with 'Sir', in the first part of the line.
    I hope it's changed.
Thanks very much. [fixed, thank you - editor]
