"I know it was hard for him," Ferg told Genius about observing Brown while they were recording. "He kept leaving the studio to talk on the phone with her. He was apologizing for something. He was like, 'Yo Ferg, what are we writing about?' There were mad dudes in the room. And I was like 'Love!' That's how we came up on the hook."
