Songfacts®:

  • Lead singer Scooter Ward wrote this song for his daughter Raven, who was about 7 years old at the time. It's about how much he loves her, and how it pains him to be away from her for long periods - a byproduct of his chosen profession that requires him to travel.
  • This was included on an album released by what was then known as the World Wrestling Federation, better known as the WWF. Shortly before this was released, the World Wrestling Federation lost a lawsuit to the World Wildlife Fund, and had to stop using the name WWF. This was the first product they put out after the ruling, and they did not yet have a new name for their company (they eventually became the WWE: World Wrestling Entertainment). As a result, the packaging was quickly changed and the title went from WWF to simply WW.
  • On Cold's 2003 CD Year Of The Spider, this appears as a hidden track, playing about 13 minutes after the last song on the official track list, "Black Sunday."
  • In a Songfacts interview with Scooter Ward, he talked about how he tried his best to schedule his commitments so he could spend more time with his family, and what it cost him to be away. "It was really tough not being there for all the little things," he said. "I was always there for the big things, but the little things like taking her to school or watching her practice or things like that - it was a giant sacrifice. In my mind, I was doing that to give her a better life in the future and to make everything OK for her. But at the same time, it's a huge thing where you don't get to see your family and you're away from all the great things that you need to be there for as a parent."
