Songfacts®:

  • Written and composed by Escape the Fate frontman Ronnie Radke, this intense cry of desperation finds the singer struggling with the pressures of life.

Cause I'm about to break down
    Searching for a way out
    I'm a liar I'm a cheater I'm a non-believer
    I'm a popular, popular monster

Radke said the titular "Popular Monster" is the voice inside his head, willing him to listen. "It's the story of a hero that's been falsely accused and torn down by society," he explained "It shows what happens when you get pushed too far. You become exactly what they say you are, exactly what they want you to be - a monster."
  • The song reached #1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs chart dated May 9, 2020, giving Falling in Reverse their first-ever leader on a Billboard chart. It also climbed to the top of Hot Hard Rock Songs.
  • The song's music video shows Radke navigating various scenarios, climaxing with him transforming into a werewolf.
