  • After recording four Top 5 singles in her native Iceland, including two chart-toppers, Glowie (rhymes with "snowy") signed an international recording contract with Columbia Records and RCA Records.

This body-positive song was Glowie's first release with her new label. "Body is all about being yourself and dancing like nobody's watching," she said.
  • The song was written by American singer-songwriter Julia Michaels and her frequent songwriting partner Justin Tranter. Their other collaborations include Justin Bieber's "Sorry" and Selena Gomez' "Good For You."
  • "Body" was produced by the Swedish duo Mattman & Robin, whose other credits include Nick Jonas' "Close," DNCE's "Cake By The Ocean" and Imagine Dragons' "Believer."
  • The song's music video was shot in Los Angeles. "It was a beautiful day in Malibu," Glowie recalled. "We were at this huge house up in the mountains where they had a pool, a tennis court, basketball court, and a beautiful view over the mountains. It was a dream come true."
