Songfacts®:

  • This manifesto of extreme petulance finds Jordan Gatesmith advising on all the things you don't have to do because you never asked to be born. The Howler vocalist explained to Words For Music: "Don't Wanna is like a parody; something that wasn't too serious. It's kind of about ourselves – our own influences and who we like."
  • The song's music video was Gatesmith's idea. He told Words For Music: "I don't like doing music videos because I'm afraid of cameras a little bit so I just picked the most boring video in the world – like 'let's just not do anything; just get in front of a camera and that'll be our video.' So that's what we did."
