Songfacts®:

  • Frontman Jonathan Davis told Sirius Radio that "Hold On" was one of several tracks on the album that were inspired by a blood disease that nearly killed him. He said: "'Hold On' is another one about the blood thing. It was like a song of empowerment. It's for people out there dealing with any kind of disease or f--ked-up relationship or anything. It's about just hanging in there. I wanted to write a song that people could listen to it and it would give 'em hope."
  • This epic song features Bad Religion drummer Brooks Wackerman, who played on four cuts from the album.
  • In an interview with the Estonian newspaper Postimes, Davis talked about why they decided to make a humorous video for this song: "I and Munky (guitar) thought, we want to do something humorous and we came up with the idea of Ballsville and rodeo. We wanted to show, what some of the Americans everyday life looks like. We think it's just funny what some people think is important in their lives."
  • Davis explained on KoRn's website why the album was untitled: "This album felt like it didn't need to have a title or boundaries. We thought it would be cooler for fans. Metallica had a Black album, the Beatles had a White album, and Peter Gabriel put out a bunch of albums he didn't title. We're throwing it out there and letting people use their minds and imaginations."
