Songfacts®:

  • Miranda Lambert wrote this song with frequent collaborators Natalie Hemby and Nicolle Galyon for the action comedy movie Hot Pursuit. The film stars Reese Witherspoon, who plays an inept police officer that attempts to protect the widow of a drug dealer (Sofía Vergara) from criminals.

"Reese texted me and told me about the movie and wanted me to write something or sing or both. I got inspired," Lambert told Ryan Seacrest during his On Air radio program. "It was a bit of a Thelma and Louise theme and that's totally up my alley. It is really so fun to be part of it."

She added that Witherspoon's only requirements for the song was that it should have a "Southern and a Latin flavor."
  • This marked the first time that Lambert has penned something specifically for the big screen.
