Songfacts®:

  • Mudvayne lead singer Chad Gray told the Illinois Entertainer that this song is about a man's sudden plunge into insanity. He added that it was inspired by the barren, snow-covered isolation that surrounded the band while they were holed up in Idaho during the writing sessions for The New Game.
  • At the beginning of the song, Chad Gray repeats four times: "All work and no play makes me a dull boy." This is a reference to the film The Shining, in which Jack Nicholson's character's wife finds her husband has typed the line repeatedly on his typewriter.
  • This was originally included on Mudvayne's 2007 rarities compilation album By the People, For the People. It was added to their album The New Game in 2008.
