Frontman Corey Taylor told Kerrang! during a track-by-track interview: "What I get from it is the expectations that come in your mind when you're dealt such a heavy blow, like losing Paul. The lyrics go:

    Be prepared for Hell, and I say oh well
    Just tell me when I can open my eyes and realise I've died


    "So you may look like you're together, but you're not. On the inside, you're really starting to deteriorate, so it's the perfect setup for what is the next song."
