• In a January 1983 interview with Melody Maker, Marc Almond said of this song, "It's very much the Tennessee Williams hot night, a bottle of bourbon, reveling in nostalgia, cigarettes all over the floor, plates in the sink and the dark secret of the alcoholic sister and the homosexual son who's impotent." This is a reference to the play Cat On A Hot Tin Roof which earned Williams the 1955 Pullitzer Prize for drama.
