Songfacts®:

  • This Sandy Vee and Taio Cruz produced song is the fourth single from the international edition of Cruz's album Rokstarr. It is a remixed version of the album track featuring Australian pop princess Kylie Minogue.
  • This is not the first time Cruz has collaborated with a leading female pop singer. Jennifer Lopez appeared on a remix to his hit single "Dynamite," while Kesha featured on "Dirty Picture."
  • Cruz told MTV News how the song came about: "Well I actually wrote — as a lot of the songs that I write for other people end up being on my album — I wrote 'Higher' for [Minogue] and she, I think, she had another song on the album called 'Higher' or some other reason why it didn't go onto her record."
  • Cruz also teamed up with Gym Class Heroes Frontman Travie McCoy for the US release of the song and with Dutch/Flemish girl band K3 for the Flemish version.
