Songfacts®:

  • Theophilus London collaborated with his pal Kanye West on this track. West also served as the executive producer of Vibes.
  • West starts his verse one of his best known catchphrases, "Everything she was doin' was cool, but it ain't Ralph though" Later on, he rehashes the line in a different context, "It's aiight but it ain't Ralph though. And unless your money talkin' keep your mouth closed."

The catchphrase ("And that and that ain't Ralph though! It ain't Ralph level!") came when West locked verbal horns with Sway Calloway on Sway in the Morning. The pair were discussing the radio host's clothing line and West stated it wasn't up to design titan Ralph Lauren's level. The phrase instantaneously became an internet sensation.
