Songfacts®:

  • Alabama rapper Yelawolf and blink-182 drummer Travis Barker were originally introduced by the latter's manager. The pair became friends and began cutting tracks whenever they found themselves in the same city. Yelawolf appeared on Barker's 2011 solo album, Give the Drummer Some and the stickman offered the MC an opportunity to run his own clothing line, Country Fresh, through his Famous Stars and Straps brand. The pair finally took time out to complete work on their collaborative EP Psycho White, which was released on November 13, 2012.
  • This is the first single from the EP. It originated during Lil Wayne's 2009 I Am Music tour, when Yelawolf caught up with Barker, who was one of the tour's openers. "He said he wanted a real high-energy track. It was 4 a.m., and everyone was getting sloppy in the hotel lobby," Barker told Billboard magazine. "I had a portable studio. I went to my room and right there recorded the drums to 'Push 'Em.'"
