Songfacts®:

  • Rhett Akins, J.T. Harding and Marv Green co-wrote this anti-bro-country song which finds William Michael Morgan musing on how the lyrics in country music these days are more about partying rather than lamenting over heartbreak and hard times.

Ain't no cryin' in your beer
Ain't no she walked out the door
Ain't nobody brokenhearted in country music anymore

The traditional-leaning singer was drawn to the song's message, which takes aim at the good time lyrics of so much modern country. He explained that though he loves "the whole idea of cold beers flowing, girls on the tailgate," the current music coming from Nashville is not based on the real world.

"People also work, people have real lives and go through bad times," Morgan added. "The whole message of the song is, 'Ain't nobody brokenhearted in country music anymore?'"
