  • One night with you
Is what I'm now praying for
The things that we two could plan
Would make my dreams come true

    Just call my name
And I'll be right by your side
I want your sweet helping hand
My loves too strong to hide

    Always lived, very quiet life
I ain't never did no wrong
Now I know that life without you
Has been too lonely too long

    One night with you
Is what I'm now praying for
The things that we two could plan
Would make my dreams come true

    Always lived, very quiet life
I ain't never did no wrong
Now I know that life without you
Has been too lonely too long

    One night with you
Is what I'm now praying for
The things that we two could plan
Would make my dreams come true Writer/s: Anita Steiman, Dave Bartholomew, Pearl King

  • Michael from Eastleigh, United Kingdomi wondered how many people would make a comment about the other version one night of sin. about a man who has been with a hooker and lived to regret it. great song, but a bit too suggestive for the conservative attitude of 50's america. it doesn't matter they are both great songs anyway.
  • Ray from Toms River, NjThe version of One Night of Sin had also been recorded by Fats Domino
  • David from Brunssum, NetherlandsUnknown is who did the re-write of One Night (Of Sin). Elvis asked his publishing company to request premission to rework the song to One Night (With You). Possibly he did re-write the lyrics himself.
  • Ken from Louisville, KyElvis sang an extended version of this during the "jam session" part of his "comeback" TV special "Elvis" in December 1968. The part where he shouted out "Been too lonley too long!" was one of the highlights of the show.
  • Johnny from Sault Ste. Marie, CanadaElvis actually recorded two versions of this song. The other was titled "One Night of Sin". It was released on the box set "Elvis: The King of Rock 'n Roll - The Complete 50's Masters". It was never released because of it's suggestive (at the time lyrics. If anyone's interested, I'll submit the lyrics if you want.
