Songfacts®:

  • Producer Fraser T Smith was hired to executive produce Glassheart, and this song that he created with Lewis marks a departure from much of the singer's recent work. She told Digital Spy: "We wanted to do an uptempo song, but for it to remain true to what I do. We added a tiny bit of dubstep and drum and bass and just rocked it."
  • Norwegian songwriter Ina Wroldsen, who is best known for her work with The Saturdays, co-wrote the track.
  • UK dance group Faithless was cited by Lewis as an inspiration for this track. "I love Faithless and what they've done - drum and bass stuff that's really heavy and dirty. My track 'Come Alive' is definitely dubstep-influenced," Lewis told The Daily Star. "Because its so syncopated it's very powerful and has an effect on you."
